Discovery Time

 Discovery Time
Key Competency Focus: Thinking Creatively

Discovery Time challenges students' thinking.
It provides students with the opportunity to plan ahead and organise their own learning, to challenge themselves, to respond creatively, and to make their own discoveries.

We all had the same picture sheet and a balloon.
Every balloon creature was creative and different.

You can be really creative with play dough. It is also a great time to explore the key competency of Relating to Others.

"It's not just a pile of wood Mrs Serci!. It's an amazing building for rabbits."

"It's a bug catcher with conveyor belts and suction pipes."
"It's a path around a crocodile lake."

We watched Kastle adjust the weight and placement of the wood to achieve the best flip.

One of the favourite table it is bits and pieces table.
Fantastic creativity!

"This is a weather tester for the birds, so the birds don't fly in the rain."

"Wow, a spinning top. How did you create that?"

School Cross Country

It was our school cross country run on Thursday.
We were the first year group to run.
We had to warm up first.

Get ready, get set, GO!

We tried really hard.
Well done, Room 9.

A strange visitor to school

We look forward to Thursdays because it is visitor day.
Children who are about to start school come to visit with us.
We make them feel welcome and help them learn about school.
Last Thursday we had a strange visitor.
We had to go down to the field to meet it.
We watched it fly in the sky.
Can you see it in the photo?

Our strange visitor was a drone.
It was being controlled by a person on the ground.
The drone was taking photos of the whole school.
We had to do a lot of waving.
